28th:  Projected Image Competition #5 – judged with great insight and style by Cat Humphries on her first visit to Harrow.    In the Beginners, 18s were scored by Paul Liu and Sanjay Mistry; 19s by Mike Kass and Sanjay with Sanjay also scoring 20 and the extra point for “Multiple Reflections”.    In the Open section over half the entries scored 18 and above; 20s went to Dave Martin for “Sisters”, “Spring Pasque Flower” and “The Brewer Spiral Staircase”;  Anne Parry for “Two Jack Lake”, Alan Graham for “Snowdrop Trio” and Avril Candler’s “First Light First Walk” which was awarded the extra point.  In the Nature section, Julia Wainwright scored 19 for “Cheetah Family at the End of the Day” and 20s for “Cheetah Cub Connection”, “Wildebeest Facing Certain Death” and “Osprey With Catch” which received the extra point.  Many thanks to Cat Humphries for her excellent judging and to everyone for supporting the evening.

23rd:  NWFed Finals – although Harrow didn’t make it to the Final, our authors whose work had been starred in the various rounds were represented in the individuals’ Print and Projected competitions.  Julia Wainwright’s “Osprey and Fish Close up” was highly commended.  Congratulations Julia.

21st:  Talk by Ted Kinsey “City Shapes” – comprising projected and print images of Ted’s project work.  It was especially relevant given our upcoming annual Monochrome competition as all Ted’s work is in monochrome.  An enjoyable and stimulating evening so many thanks to Ted.

14th:  Print Competition #3 – this high scoring competition was judged by Jim Nemer.  In the Beginners, Paul Liu gained the extra point for “Street Performer, Soho”;  Alice Kass, in her first print competition scored three 18s and a 20 for “Alium Christophil”.  In the Open section all the prints scored highly, with John Draper’s “Pasque Flower” coming third overall of the evening.  In the Nature section Jim awarded 18s, 19s and 20s with Julia Wainwright’s “Cheetah Family at the End of the Day” coming second and her “Singing Red Winged Lark” in first place.

7th:  We enjoyed a Monochrome workshop run by Judith Gimber, Avril Candler and Alan Colegrave.  Alan demonstrated the use of Silver Efex Pro, one of the set of filters included in the (free) Nik Collection of software filters.  With our annual monochrome competition coming up in March it was a particularly timely and useful evening.
