Last night’s competition was judged by Les Spitz who gave a considered critique to every print. Les was also impressed by the number of monochrome photographs presented.

In the Beginners’ section Simon Shindler triumphed with an 18 for “Ladies of Southend”, 19s for “London Fashion Week 2018” and “Been There” – the latter gaining the extra point for winning.

The Open section was won by Alan Colegrave for “On the Altiplano”; in second place was Judith Gimber’s  “The Rivals” and third place went to Julia Wainwright for “Opposing Bee Eaters”.  19s went to Alan Colegrave for “Icelandic Waterfalls”, Julia Wainwright for “Hyena Drool” and “Wary Wild Fox”,  Ron Churchill for “Cheeky”, Mark Buckley-Sharp for “Herring Gull” and John Draper for “The Skate Park”. Lots of 18s too!
