25th February: Culture and Wildlife of Ethiopia – talk by Julia Wainwright ARPS MPAGB

Many thanks to Julia for her fascinating and professionally delivered talk last night.  Ethiopia is a relatively untried and tested country and Julia shared some of the challenges encountered during the trip.  It clearly wasn’t for the faint hearted!

Through her wonderful images we explored the rugged Western and Eastern Highlands and the Great Rift Valley that bisects them.  We saw spectacular scenery, mammals and birds.  Julia showed us empathetic images of the people, their culture and lives, the mixture of ancient and modern living in a country still blighted by war and tension in one of Africa’s most diverse countries.

It was an informative, interesting and visually stimulating evening.
