5th July: Print Competition #5 – judged by Kevin Day

A lovely show of prints for our final competition of the 2021/22 season, judged last night by Kevin Day, Stoke Poges Camera Club.

Congratulations to Julia Wainwright who swept the board with first, second and third for ‘European Roller Sunning Itself’, ‘Veiled Dancer’ and ‘Brown Bear in Evening Light’ respectively plus a 20 for ‘Common Buzzards Fighting’.  This certainly confirms Julia as our Print Trophy winner.  20s were also awarded to John Draper for ‘Sweet Peas’ and Alan Colegrave for ‘Sea Scene Sumatra’.        Kevin awarded four 19s and these were ‘The Barn’ by John, and Avril Candler’s ‘Black and White Emperor Tamarin Monkey’, ‘Willow in Morning Mist’ and ‘Wistful’.  There were several prints with 18 points including ‘Egypt Point Base’ by Peter Polkinghorne,  ‘Held at Red’ and ‘Riley Classic’ by Judy Buckley-Sharp,  ‘Gift Wrapped’ by Mark Buckley-Sharp and Ron Churchill’s ‘Old Wood and Sparrow’, ‘Ringlet’ and ‘The Wall 2’.

Very many thanks to Kevin for his meticulous and informative commentary which made the evening so enjoyable.

We look forward to seeing you there.
