2nd July: Panel of Small Prints Competition (John King Trophy)

Our annual competition was judged by John Credland ARPS APAGB DPAGB BPE3* .

The John King Trophy began as a film based competition where the images were only returned to the photographer as twelve enprints on the competition evening.  Using scissors, boards, tape and ‘props’, the resulting montages were then judged.  Although we are now in the digital age all the amazing number of entries continued the spirit of the event.

Many congratulations to Alice Kass for her outstanding winning panel “Extinction Rebellion”; Dave Martin’s “Expressions” was second and Judy Buckley-Sharp’s “Chihuly Pieces Kew 2019” third. Dave’s “Christmas Tree Light Trails, Mark Buckley-Sharp’s “Istanbul – Independence Avenue” and Barry Sampson’s “Eggstremely Silly Eggstravaganza” were highly commended. All the other entries were commended!

A challenging job for our judge and John Credland did us all proud.

Many thanks to John and to everyone who entered and supported the evening.
