25th March: Open and Set Subject Print Competitions judged by Michael Lurie

Many thanks to Michael Lurie, Pinner Camera Club, for judging our Open and Set Subject (Lines) print competitions.

The Open section: many congratulations to  Peter Polkinghorne for his winning print  ‘Sunset Panorama’, his ‘Locked Up’ was third with Judith Gimber’s ‘Male Ruffs Displaying’ second.  Highly commended were Avril Candler’s ‘A Touch for Reassurance’ and Judith’s ‘Yeoman’s Penetrating Stare’ with her ‘Blue Bells at Dawn’ commended.

Set Subject – Lines:  congratulations to Judy Buckley-Sharp  for her Trophy winner –  ‘Curtain Wall’;  in second place was Mark Buckley-Sharp’s ‘Lines 5’ and third was Avril Candler’s ‘Trees Tangles and Dappled Light’.  Michael awarded three prints  highly commended – Judy’s ‘Halic Metro Bridge’  and ‘Pink Umbrella’ and ‘Shutters 2’ by Barry Sampson.  Peter Polkinghorne’s ‘Two Level Jetty’ was commended.

Very many thanks to everyone who entered the competitions and came along to support the evening.  Special thanks to Michael for his judging and entering into the spirit of the feedback sessions.

There is no meeting next week as we have an Easter break and look forward to the 8th April when we will be at Century for a workshop/members’ evening.
